  • Who We Are, What We Do

    Emily’s Hopeful Holiday was created in honor of our daughter Emily, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 7 in 2007. She was treated at Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and is now a CANCER SURVIVOR at the very young age of 11. During our painful journey we discovered that there are many families who are struggling with the staggering cost of cancer treatments. We have raised $70,000 since the fund's establishment in 2007. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the families at Rainbow to assist them in paying their bills (utilities, rent, etc.). Emily's Hopeful Holiday Fund is through Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, OH and we are always accepting donations. This fund assists families throughout the entire year, however, we focus our fundraising efforts during the holiday season. We will always remember the fear and heartache of chemo treatments, lumbar punctures, sedations, medical procedures, surgeries, and anxiously waiting on every test result. Our nerve wracking, yet relatively simple routine trips to the Ireland Cancer Center for Emily’s check-ups remind us of where we have been and that there are families and children just beginning this journey, continuing to endure this journey, and/or ending this journey with either an immense gratefulness or an unspeakable sadness. We are so grateful for Emily’s amazing prognosis, for her health, for her laughter, for her smile, for her silliness, for her. We thank God everyday for His blessing upon our family and for all the wonderful people who surround our lives with love and support.

2011 Fundraising Total……..

What an amazing year this has been!  I am very proud to announce that so far (I continue to receive donations throughout the Christmas Season) my total raised for 2011 is currently at $18,088.00.  This has been our biggest year yet!

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us.  This money will be directly deposited into the Emily’s Hopeful Holiday Fund at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH and will assist many families with paying bills such as rent, utilities, car payments, mortgages — or whatever their needs may be.

Our Coupon Booklet raised a great deal of money…thank you to all who purchased advertising, coupons, and memorials and thank you to everyone who purchased the booklets.  Our Annual Fundraiser at Church Street in Amherst drew record crowds this year which greatly contributed to our grand total.  

Thank you to everyone who came out to the fundraiser, purchased raffle tickets, ate at Church Street and donated to EHH.  Thank you  to all our show hosts who generously donated 75% of their commission (Susan Enzor/Tupperware, Susan Neely/MaryKay, Linda Bertrand/Silpada, Chris Whitacre/Willow House, Karlene Reaser/Pampered Chef, Amy Heuring/Scentsy, and Melissa Striker/Tastefully Simple).  Thank you to Church Street for your very generous donation of 20% of all dining bills during our fundraiser!  Thank you to all the raffle prize donors!  And lastly, thank you to ALL our volunteers who continue to support EHH — We could not do this without all of your help!
