EHH2014 — Getting Busy! Can you help in any way??
Posted by emilyshopefulholiday on June 19, 2014
Continuing our work on Emily’s Hopeful Holiday – Childhood Cancer Family Financial Relief Fund!
Our list of sponsors and raffle donors is growing!
If you are interested in placing an ad or donating to the raffle, please email me. I know it sounds early to be doing this for a November event…but it takes this long to obtain the many raffle items everyone enjoys (last year we had 70 raffle items — the most ever!) and fill a sponsor booklet with ads.
Ads range from $50 to $250…check out our website under SPONSOR BOOK INFO if you are interested.
Thank you for your consideration!https://emilyshopefulholiday.wordpress.com/sponsors/

Update EHH2014
Posted by emilyshopefulholiday on May 15, 2014
***We are accepting ad placement (see https://emilyshopefulholiday.wordpress.com/coupon-sponsor-recognition-booklet-info/) & raffle donations now.
Our event is 11/9/2014 but we would like online presales for raffle tickets to go on sale at the end of September/early October. We appreciate your early raffle donations and ad commitments for event planning purposes.
Update: We are now in need of seven more $100 sponsorship donations for the Apple MacBook Air. This item generates a lot of money at our raffle and is one if not THE most popular item at our raffle. We appreciate your consideration for being a $100 Apple MacBook donor.
As always, thank you so much for your continued support to Emily’s Hopeful Holiday.

FAQ’s, Mission, and Information about Emily’s Hopeful Holiday (“EHH”) Updated 9/9/23:
Posted by emilyshopefulholiday on August 21, 2013
- As a two-time cancer survivor myself (mom), and our daughter, Emily, whom the fund is created in honor of, and now a childhood cancer survivor, our family mission is: To assist families who have a child or young adult with cancer by providing financial assistance to them.
- While we no longer hold an annual fundraising event, EHH is still receiving donations. Effective 2022, these funds are now distributed at our family’s discretion, in cooperation and agreement with our personal donors, to families who have a child or young adult with cancer outside of Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
- In 2018, EHH hit a milestone raising $150,000 since 2007!
- To date (9/9/2023), we have raised $163,900.
- Our very first EHH began in November/December 2007, during the holiday season, hence the name, Emily’s Hopeful Holiday.
- Our fund assists families throughout the entire year.
- We are based out of Amherst, OH (Lorain County).
- We continue to accept monetary donations all year round via cash, personal check, or donation through this website (Paypal button located in the upper right-hand corner).
- Financial assistance is provided to help with anything the family is in need of, from utilities, rent, and mortgages, to car repairs to get back and forth to doctor appointments.
- 100% of the money we receive is distributed directly to families who have a child or young adults with cancer.
- EHH has been successful through generous monetary donations from family, friends, local businesses, and other organizations who donate to EHH.
- RAINBOW BABIES & CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL CONNECTION: There is still part of our fund that is being operated through Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH through a social worker who determines the need for assistance. Emily’s Hopeful Holiday is the only fund of its kind at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
- We do not raise money for cancer research, toys for the kids, or the hospital. The very first year, we raised money, asked for gift cards, and requested toys for the kids and supplies for the art room on Rainbow’s pediatric cancer floor, but now we simply raise money for families who have a child or young adult with cancer.
- We receive no money from the hospital, nor do we raise money for the hospital.
- Please subscribe by clicking “follow” in the lower right-hand corner to receive all blog posts/updates for EHH. Share with your friends. The more money we receive, the more families we can assist.
- You can find us on FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/EHH2007.
Fun facts about Emily:
- Emily is a 2022 Cedarville University Graduate who double majored in Early Childhood and Special Education; She is currently teaching Special Education and loves her job and school, and adores all her students.
- Emily married her college sweetheart, Tim, on July 24, 2022, and they recently adopted an adorable cat to add to their family.
- Emily was diagnosed at age 7 and her cancer treatments lasted 2 years and 2 months. She is a proud and thriving cancer survivor!

DEADLINE FOR AD SPONSORSHIP AUG. 31 – We need your help!
Posted by emilyshopefulholiday on August 16, 2013
Two weeks remain to sponsor an ad in our Sponsor Booklet.
Please use the contact me button if you are interested in supporting EHH and helping us help families who have kids with cancer. For ad layout info, visit: https://emilyshopefulholiday.wordpress.com/coupon-sponsor-recognition-booklet-info/.
By sponsoring an ad, you are showing your support to families who have kids fighting cancer. The Sponsor Booklets are handed out at our annual event to approximately 200 people. This year’s event is at Ziggy’s in Amherst, OH on November 10th, from 3-7. It includes, many raffle items, entertainment (this year’s band is Me & My Brother), and dine to donate – 15% back to EHH from Ziggy’s.
Raffle donations are also being accepted now. Raffles are one of our biggest money makers. Without the help and support of family, friends, and local businesses, we could not keep EHH going. Some great ideas to donate are: lottery basket, Italian theme, OSU, etc. We have friends who donate in memory of someone, or simply just want to be part of making a direct impact on families who have kids with cancer. 100% of ALL money raised, goes directly to families to help them pay bills while their kids are being treated for cancer.
This year’s raffles will again include the Apple MacBook Air ($1100 value), our huge 50/50, a 10 person party pack to the new Skyzone, Westlake, a four pack of tickets to Cedar Point, our ever-popular Put-In Bay package which includes transportation, accommodations, dining, and tour package, FOUR watches donated by Marzavas & Sons, tickets to an upcoming show at The Q which will be announced, among many other amazing prizes.
Save the date — and hope to see you there! Thank you to everyone who continues to support EHH.

7th Annual Emily’s Hopeful Holiday Info on How YOU or YOUR BUSINESS can help!
Posted by emilyshopefulholiday on April 3, 2013
It is time – EHH2013!
Hello friends! I am beginning to work on this year’s 7th Annual Emily’s Hopeful Holiday! Can you believe….our 7th year??? Last year’s grand total, was $16,209.84! Making our grand total raised over $78,000 since 2007! Wouldn’t it be awesome to hit $100,000 this year???!!! We can do it…with YOUR help!
We could not do this without the help from our many generous supporters over the past six years. As a reminder, 100% of the money we raise goes directly into our fund at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. This money assists families who have children with cancer by helping them pay their bills: mortgage, rent, utilities, car repairs to get to and from appointments, gas, and whatever else a family is in need of but cannot afford so that they can care for their sick child…that’s where we kick in! Every penny you donate, goes DIRECTLY to families who have kids with cancer.
I will once again be doing the Sponsor Booklet where ads of various sizes can be purchased from $50 to $250; and front & back cover sponsorships are available for $300. The booklets are handed out at the Event in November to all guests and is great exposure for your business as well as supporting a wonderful cause.
For all you wonderful and faithful past Sponsor Booklet supporters, please inbox me and let me know if you are interested in participating again this year and what size ad you would like to place. The deadline is August 31, 2013 for ad placement. Information on ad placement is located here: https://emilyshopefulholiday.wordpress.com/coupon-sponsor-recognition-booklet-info/
I would once again like to purchase an Apple MacBook as our big raffle item. Last year, I posted a request for donations for this item on facebook, and received $1000 in three days by some wonderful and generous supporters. I am once again asking for 10 $100 donations to apply toward the Apple Macbook as this raffle was so successful last year. Please inbox me if you are interested.
Also, last year we had a record 63 raffle items! YAY! I could not do this without the help of all my friends, family and support from the community. If you or your business would like to donate to our raffle, please inbox me with your commitment. I’d like to start receiving raffle items by the end of August.
Lastly, if anyone is interested in assisting me with soliciting donations (either ads or raffle items), work for a company looking to donate to a wonderful cause, have wonderful and generous contacts that may be in interested in supporting EHH that you would be willing to share with me or send them information about us for support, please let me know. This event has grown every year…and I’d like it to continue to do so….but I need YOUR help to keep it going. I am amazed at the amount of new friends I meet every year, simply by them finding out about EHH via my facebook page or through other friends and wanting to help in some way and be a part of EHH. We are blessed! Thank you so much for all your support.
