  • Who We Are, What We Do

Emily’s Hopeful Holiday was created in honor of our daughter Emily, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 7 in 2007. She was treated at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and is now a CANCER SURVIVOR at the very young age of 17. During our painful journey we discovered that there are many families who are struggling with the staggering cost of cancer treatments. We have raised $135,586.56 since the fund's establishment in 2007. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the families at Rainbow to assist them in paying their bills (utilities, rent, etc.). For more information on EHH, please review this blog for links to media and other information. Emily's Hopeful Holiday Fund is through Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, OH and we are always accepting donations. Please use the CONTACT ME button to email me if you would like to make a contribution or use the PAYPAL DONATION button on the right side bar to make a donation. This fund assists families throughout the entire year, however, we focus our fundraising efforts during the holiday season. We will always remember the fear and heartache of chemo treatments, lumbar punctures, sedations, medical procedures, surgeries, and anxiously waiting on every test result. Our nerve wracking, yet relatively simple routine trips to the Ireland Cancer Center for Emily’s check-ups remind us of where we have been and that there are families and children just beginning this journey, continuing to endure this journey, and/or ending this journey with either an immense gratefulness or an unspeakable sadness. We are so grateful for Emily’s amazing prognosis, for her health, for her laughter, for her smile, for her silliness, for her. We thank God everyday for His blessing upon our family and for all the wonderful people who surround our lives with love and support.

EHH 2012 Sponsor/Donation Opportunities

Posted by emilyshopefulholiday on April 3, 2012

This year, an estimated 12,060 children (younger than 15) will be diagnosed with cancer in the United States.

Another year has begun which means it’s time to start raising more money for families who have children with cancer.  Last year’s very successful Sponsor and Coupon Booklet helped us exceed our goal of $10,000 to our biggest fundraising year yet.  We raised over $20,000.00!!! 100% of that money goes directly to families who have children with cancer being treated at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.  This year, we’d like to invite you to be part of helping us help families who have children with cancer.

What YOU can do to help  – You can participate by choosing from the following options.  You may choose one, two, or all options to help us reach our goal!

Sponsorship Opportunities (for businesses)

In celebrating our 6th year anniversary, and attempting to match our goal of $20,000 from last yearwe are relying on the financial support of businesses and individuals to assist us in continuing to provide financial assistance to families who have children with cancer at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.

Since it was such a huge success, once again we will be creating a Sponsor booklet just like last year.  It will be 8 ½ x 5 1/2 and will contain ads from local businesses showing their support to families who have children with cancer.  We encourage you to include in your ad a message of hope to families with children with cancer and how proud you are to support Emily’s Hopeful Holiday.  We will include stories of families we have assisted financially to put faces behind our cause.  These books will be sold throughout the Lorain County area at the various fundraising events we attend throughout the year and at our annual event in November, 2012.

I am leaving it up to each business to incorporate a coupon(s) within your ad should you wish to do so.  Please keep in mind the space you will need to place an ad and coupon as both will not fit in the ¼ page ad.  I suggest 1/3 page and up for those wanting to do both.

Deadline for submission of ads is August 31, 2012.  Expiration dates for coupons are your choice with last possible expiration date being August 31, 2013.  Ad space is as follows:

  • 1/4 Page Ad – $50
  • 1/3 Page Ad – $100
  • 1/2 Page Ad – $150
  • Whole Page Ad – $250
  • Sponsorship Front: $500, COLOR Name on Front of Booklet plus full page Ad inside.  *Only 2 Spots available

Sponsorship Back: $300, COLOR Name on Front of Booklet plus 1/2 page Ad inside. *Only 3 spots available

**Everyone placing an ad will also be recognized on our website and Facebook page acknowledging your support.

Raffle Donations

  • My goal is to obtain SPONSORSHIP for our big raffle item – an Apple MacBook Air.  This item is costly ($1000) but it will generate a huge amount of money through our raffle.  I am hoping to get 10 sponsors at $100 donation levels. If this is something your company would be interested in sponsoring, please let me know.  You will be recognized as a sponsor of our raffle and receive ad space at the level your donation reflects.
  • Our annual fundraiser is every November locally in Amherst, Ohio and we are always in need of raffle items. Our fundraiser is known for our amazing and numerous raffles. Raffles alone generate nearly $3000 of our annual fundraising campaign.  Gift certificates, pampering items, themed baskets, etc. are always welcome.

**Sponsors and Raffle Donors will be recognized in our Emily’s Hopeful Holiday Sponsor Booklet, on our website and Facebook page acknowledging your support.

We are beginning to accept ads, raffle donations and sponsorship for the MacBook Air now and will receive them through August 31, 2012 (raffle donations accepted up until two weeks before event date).  Please use the contact me button above if you would like more information on how you can help.

Thank you in advance for supporting our efforts to enrich the lives of others through our blessings.
