Emily's Hopeful Holiday

Raising money for families who have children with cancer ~ since 2007

  • Who We Are, What We Do

Emily’s Hopeful Holiday was created in honor of our daughter Emily, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 7 in 2007. She was treated at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and is now a CANCER SURVIVOR at the very young age of 17. During our painful journey we discovered that there are many families who are struggling with the staggering cost of cancer treatments. We have raised $144,500.00 since the fund's establishment in 2007. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the families at Rainbow to assist them in paying their bills (utilities, rent, etc.). For more information on EHH, please review this blog for links to media and other information. Emily's Hopeful Holiday Fund is through Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, OH and we are always accepting donations. Please use the CONTACT ME button to email me if you would like to make a contribution or use the PAYPAL DONATION button on the right side bar to make a donation. This fund assists families throughout the entire year, however, we focus our fundraising efforts during the holiday season. We will always remember the fear and heartache of chemo treatments, lumbar punctures, sedations, medical procedures, surgeries, and anxiously waiting on every test result. Our nerve wracking, yet relatively simple routine trips to the Ireland Cancer Center for Emily’s check-ups remind us of where we have been and that there are families and children just beginning this journey, continuing to endure this journey, and/or ending this journey with either an immense gratefulness or an unspeakable sadness. We are so grateful for Emily’s amazing prognosis, for her health, for her laughter, for her smile, for her silliness, for her. We thank God everyday for His blessing upon our family and for all the wonderful people who surround our lives with love and support.

Looking forward to EHH2015; How YOU can help EHH

Posted by emilyshopefulholiday on December 31, 2014

We are still receiving checks in for Emily’s Hopeful Holiday. UPDATE: 2014: $23,432.09 and Grand total: $116,148.61 since 2007. 100% of this money goes DIRECTLY to families who have kids with cancer. We could not do this without YOU. Thank you to everyone who continues to support EHH.

If you or your business want to be part of EHH, please email me and let’s make it happen!

Some ideas on how you or your business can become involved with EHH and DIRECTLY make a difference in the lives of families who have kids with cancer:

  • Become a sponsor by placing an in our Sponsor Booklet for our annual event; see https://emilyshopefulholiday.wordpress.com/coupon-sponsor-recognition-booklet-info/ for more info.
  • Provide raffle donations at our annual event.  This is one of our biggest money makers!  (Annual event is the second Sunday of November in Amherst, OH).
  • Monetary donations are accepted throughout the entire year.  Use our convenient Payal donation button on our website or contact me for further info. 100% of your donation goes directly to families who have kids with cancer.
  • For business owners, have a work-related fundraiser with your employees.  Example of what others have done for us:  $1 – $2 dress down day with proceeds going to EHH, donate to EHH on other’s behalf in lieu of sending out gifts during the Holidays, etc.
  • Spread the word!  We’ve made some amazing relationships with businesses because the employee has taken the initiative to start the process of connecting their boss or their connections to us because our cause has spoken to their heart!
  • We’ve been very fortunate to have other individuals, groups, and businesses host a fundraiser on our behalf.  The sky is the limit with your creativity!  Some fundraisers on our behalf include: A a Fashion Show with a lovely lunch, Bible Study Groups making EHH the benefiting charity of their holiday donations from their group members, etc.

We can’t wait to see what EHH2015 has in store for us! Happy New Year!

The Zichi Family
