A Message from the Zichi Family

With the conclusion of our 9^th Annual Emily’s Hopeful Holiday in November 2015, the Zichi Family is announcing that we are no longer going to be hosting an annual event.

We thank everyone who has supported our cause throughout the years. Without our donors, sponsors, Ziggy’s, and everyone who has volunteered and attended our events, we could not have raised over $135,000 for families who have kids with cancer.

Emily’s Hopeful Holiday has been an incredible gift to our family and has enabled us to meet so many amazing people and has shown us first-hand what true, genuine giving and love looks like. We’ve been deeply touched by the ongoing support to not only our family in hosting the annual fundraisers but seeing people lovingly doing for those who are in need expecting nothing in return.

Our family has reached a time in our lives where we want to move forward and not have cancer define us any longer. Emily and I are very proud cancer survivors but we feel it is time to close that chapter in our lives and not look back, but forward. That chapter has been filled with some of the greatest pain we have ever experienced as a family, as well as great joy in our healing and accomplishments with Emily’s Hopeful Holiday. We are excited to see what future endeavors lie ahead for the Zichi family unrelated to cancer.

The trials we have faced has made a huge impact on our family and we have been forever changed by them. In trials, you can become bitter or you can become better. We’ve chosen to become better letting the trials God has allowed in our lives to mold us into who we needed to become as individuals as well as a family. In them, we have learned many lessons. While the typical cliché holds true, “don’t take anything for granted,” we’ve also been reminded how important it is to cherish the people in your life, be genuine, be kind, live a life of truth, strive for peace in all things, accept the things you cannot change with grace, and always put others first.

While we will not be having our annual event any longer, the Emily’s Hopeful Holiday Fund will remain open at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital to receive monetary donations at any time throughout the year. Many people choose our Fund because they appreciate the fact that 100% of the money they donate goes directly to families who have kids with cancer.

We have been very fortunate in the past with organizations, businesses, and individuals having fundraisers on our behalf and that will remain an option for anyone interested.

We will always have a special place in our hearts for those who are, have, or will endure cancer and look forward to supporting them not only through personal contributions to the Emily’s Hopeful Holiday Fund but through the many other worthy causes that are available to us.

Again we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us help families who have kids with cancer and being an example of what true genuine love looks like.

DEADLINE FOR AD SPONSORSHIP AUG. 31 – We need your help!

Two weeks remain to sponsor an ad in our Sponsor Booklet.

By sponsoring an ad, you are showing your support to families who have kids fighting cancer.  The Sponsor Booklets are handed out at our annual event to approximately 200 people.  This year’s event is at Ziggy’s in Amherst, OH on November 10th, from 3-7.  It includes, many raffle items, entertainment (this year’s band is Me & My Brother), and dine to donate – 15% back to EHH from Ziggy’s.  

Raffle donations are also being accepted now.  Raffles are one of our biggest money makers.  Without the help and support of family, friends, and local businesses, we could not keep EHH going.  Some great ideas to donate are:  lottery basket, Italian theme, OSU, etc.  We have friends who donate in memory of someone, or simply just want to be part of making a direct impact on families who have kids with cancer.  100% of ALL money raised, goes directly to families to help them pay bills while their kids are being treated for cancer.

This year’s raffles will again include the Apple MacBook Air ($1100 value), our huge 50/50, a 10 person party pack to the new Skyzone, Westlake, a four pack of tickets to Cedar Point, our ever-popular Put-In Bay package which includes transportation, accommodations, dining, and tour package, FOUR watches donated by Marzavas & Sons, tickets to an upcoming show at The Q which will be announced, among many other amazing prizes.

7th Annual Emily’s Hopeful Holiday Info on How YOU or YOUR BUSINESS can help!

It is time – EHH2013!

Hello friends!  I am beginning to work on this year’s 7^th Annual Emily’s Hopeful Holiday!  Can you believe….our 7^th year???   Last year’s grand total, was $16,209.84!  Making our grand total raised over $78,000 since 2007!  Wouldn’t it be awesome to hit $100,000 this year???!!!   We can do it…with YOUR help!

We could not do this without the help from our many generous supporters over the past six years.   As a reminder, 100% of the money we raise goes directly into our fund at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.  This money assists families who have children with cancer by helping them pay their bills: mortgage, rent, utilities, car repairs to get to and from appointments, gas, and whatever else a family is in need of but cannot afford so that they can care for their sick child…that’s where we kick in!  Every penny you donate, goes DIRECTLY to families who have kids with cancer.

I will once again be doing the Sponsor Booklet where ads of various sizes can be purchased from $50 to $250; and front & back cover sponsorships are available for $300.  The booklets are handed out at the Event in November to all guests and is great exposure for your business as well as supporting a wonderful cause.

I would once again like to purchase an Apple MacBook as our big raffle item.  Last year, I posted a request for donations for this item on facebook, and received $1000 in three days by some wonderful and generous supporters.  I am once again asking for 10 $100 donations to apply toward the Apple Macbook as this raffle was so successful last year.   Please inbox me if you are interested.

Also, last year we had a record 63 raffle items!  YAY!  I could not do this without the help of all my friends, family and support from the community.  If you or your business would like to donate to our raffle, please inbox me with your commitment.  I’d like to start receiving raffle items by the end of August.

Lastly, if anyone is interested in assisting me with soliciting donations (either ads or raffle items), work for a company looking to donate to a wonderful cause, have wonderful and generous contacts that may be in interested in supporting EHH that you would be willing to share with me or send them information about us for support, please let me know.  This event has grown every year…and I’d like it to continue to do so….but I need YOUR help to keep it going.   I am amazed at the amount of new friends I meet every year, simply by them finding out about EHH via my facebook page or through other friends and wanting to help in some way and be a part of EHH.  We are blessed! I am VERY HAPPY to announce Emily’s Hopeful Holiday – Childhood Cancer Family Financial Relief Fund Grand Total for EHH2012: $16,114.84! WAY more than I expected this year! This money was raised from the Sponsor/Coupon Booklet for all you generous businesses who donate to EHH through that; the Event in November — thank you to ALL who came and supported us at our event and everyone who donated to our raffles; a very generous donation from the ladies at Alabaster Jar Ministries; and our newest donor PartnerShip LLC for their very generous donation! Thank you Shannon Dario for telling your company about EHH and thank you PartnerShip LLC for your amazing response to support us. Thank you to EVERYONE who supported EHH2012. This money will continue to help so many families who have kids with cancer at Rainbow! Raffle Baskets

Donations STILL and ALWAYS being accepted…..

Just because the fundraiser is over, doesn’t mean you cannot still donate if you or your place of employment is looking for a cause to support this Holiday Season.

I am still in the process of adding up all the donations from the fundraiser but am still expecting more donations…I will post the total on this page when I have a final amount.

You can make a donation through paypal using the donation button in the right upper-hand corner of this website.

Donations are always accepted throughout the year, however, we focus our fundraising efforts during the Holiday Season.  It should also be noted that this fund helps families throughout the entire year as well, not just during the holidays.  So far, EHH has helped 19 families!
